In my last post regarding The Obama Factor, I told you about how what the President and our First Lady buy has a great influence on our buying habits and ultimately our economy. That attitude and the comments I received gave rise to an idea. Talked with Sandi from Wearable Art Blog who is on board.

Tara Gentile of the blog Handmade in PA and the blog Scoutie Girl says “i have thought of this “industry” as the key to the new economy. the give & take of our handmade community allows us to both feed our desire to consume and get back to our roots as manufacturers. the vast majority of the money you spend as a consumer of handmade goods stays with the maker – perhaps right even in your own community. it buys groceries, it pays for salon services, it tips the barista at the local coffee shop.
if our president and his beautiful family want to show their true dedication to the economic recovery of this country and the global community – and i believe that they do – then what better way than to purchase handmade goods?”
