Laughing Yoga! The Next Exercise Trend?

Laughter yoga is a new twist on an ancient practice. Not only does it increase happiness, but it also strengthens the immune system, reduces pain and lowers stress. More contagious than a cough or sneeze, laughter relaxes the whole body. It triggers the release of endorphins, promoting an overall sense of well-being.

I went to a Yoga Festival with a friend and was looking forward to doing yoga as much as possible.  The first day we were walking around the grounds and a woman asked us if we were going to Laughter Yoga.  We both looked at each other and laughed.  She was the teacher and proceeded to tell us all the benefits it gives you.  We both said  we will consider it and proceeded to go to the more traditional classes.  The next day it was raining and a lot colder so outdoor yoga activities became a bit more questionable and again we ran into the same woman.  She said they had moved her class indoors and we should come.  Sounded like a plan so we put our skepticism aside.

Let me tell you- It was a life changing experience for me.  By the time I was finished I felt like I had been working out for hours not 20 minutes!  So, I did it for a small group I belong to and they really liked it.  Then I was asked to do it for a larger group and this time I let my hair down, and really pushed the class.  It not only gave me a huge rush of adrenaline, everyone in the workshop said I was a natural.  I took it as a sign so.....

Every 4th Friday of the month I will host a 30 minute class.  Calling it Ha Ha Yoga Happy Hour.  I am not a licensed practitioner but I can guarantee you that you will leave laughing and feeling great.  Check out my Events Page for all the details.

Come Laugh with us.  If you are curious about it, check out some of the articles.
