Happy Earth Day. This "holiday" is to help remind us that we need to keep the environment in mind in everything we do. ”Bonus”, if you are a Steel Pony customer, you are already doing it!
If you have read my blog in the past, you know this conversation is near and dear to my heart. In everything we produce at Steel Pony we consider the impact.
We do not use "natural" dyes because, after a lot of research we found the dye we use is much more environmentally friendly. We use less water in our process and we do not use the energy of dryers to speed up our process.
One of the most exciting things we do is use 99.99% of all the fabrics we buy, and we work hard to make sure our fabrics are up to our standards of sustainability.
We sort our "scrapes" by color and then decide what they can become. From them we make Pillows, Journals, Clothing and whatever comes to mind that people might want.
We even create Wedding pieces.
Working this way has been creative and Challenging. Mostly it is very satisfying. I hope you feel that way too. Thanks for the support.
