Why Creativity Is Your Most Reliable Superpower
Share
We don’t often think of creativity as something we can rely on.
We think of it as something extra.
Something we do when we have time.
Something we return to when everything else is taken care of.
But what if creativity isn’t extra?
What if it’s one of the most reliable tools we have?
When Everything Changes
There are moments in life when things shift.
A role changes.
A business evolves.
A space disappears.
And suddenly, what once felt stable no longer does.
In those moments, it’s easy to feel ungrounded.
To wonder what’s still solid.
What’s still yours.
What Doesn’t Leave
Here’s what I’ve come to understand:
Creativity doesn’t leave.
Even when circumstances change.
Even when structures fall away.
Even when identity feels uncertain.
Creativity is something you carry.
It doesn’t depend on a studio.
Or a schedule.
Or even a plan.
It’s a way of seeing.
A way of responding.
A way of moving through the world.
More Than Making
We often reduce creativity to what we produce.
A finished piece.
A product.
Something to show.
But creativity is much bigger than that.
It’s how you solve problems.
How you adapt.
How you begin again.
It’s how you take something uncertain… and shape it into something meaningful.
A Quiet Kind of Strength
Creativity is a quiet kind of strength.
It doesn’t always look powerful.
It looks like:
picking something up again
trying without knowing
making something imperfect
But inside those small actions is something steady.
A way forward.
A way through.
Why It Matters Now
We live in a world that constantly changes.
Things move quickly.
Plans shift.
Certainty comes and goes.
And in the middle of all of that…
Creativity is something you can return to.
Not because it fixes everything.
But because it grounds you.
In My Book
In my book Threads4Healing, I talk about how creativity became something I could rely on—not just for making, but for navigating change.
It became a way to reconnect with myself.
A way to steady myself when things felt uncertain.
A way to begin again.
If this resonates with you, I explore this idea much more deeply in:

Because creativity isn’t something reserved for certain people.
It’s something we all carry.
Sometimes we just need a way to return to it.
